Jane Fonda’s landing is on trend for two key reasons

Jane Fonda’s landing is on trend for two key reasons

Grace and Frankie star, Jane Fonda, is famed as a ‘Hollywood icon’ due to her roles in the long-running comedy series, alongside appearances in Barbarella and (most recently) Book Club

It seems only right, therefore, that the actress lives in one of Los Angeles’ most vibrant neighborhoods – Century City – a district that borders the beloved Hollywood – in an eclectic home fit for the star. Since moving into the property in 2017, Jane has shared glimpses of her interiors on social media – but in all her enviable spaces – it is her landing that (we believe) comes out on top in terms of design.

The space (seen below) is used by the famed fitness enthusiast – hence the colored equipment interrupting the neutral scheme. Other than these pieces, however, Jane Fonda’s landing is a lesson in combining natural materials and neutral hues (a timeless palette that continues to top color trends) – but these tones aren’t the only things getting designers excited.

According to Anne Haimes, the design director and founder of Anne Haimes Interiors (opens in new tab), the colors seen in Jane Fonda’s landing pay homage to the warm minimalism interior design trend that she predicts will be in vogue this year.

‘Lovers of gold accents, warm wood tones, and cream rejoice! Warm hues will continue to dominate over cooler color palettes in 2023,’ Anne says.

A part of her studio also offers The Interior Concierge (opens in new tab), a personal home shopping service that helps you find the perfect home decor and accessories for your home.

The designer speaks of a new wave of minimalism – in a more sophisticated and homier manner than we’ve seen previously – and the colors seen in Jane Fonda’s home complement the emerging color trend perfectly. ‘Warm wood tones and natural textures will become a feature of themselves without compromising the simplicity and cleanliness of minimalist styles,’ Anne says.

These colors are not the only on-trend feature seen in Jane Fonda’s landing, however. The arches, best seen on the second slide in the photo carousel (above) are equally as noteworthy, according to Anne.

Rounded furniture made a big debut in 2022, but this year will take curvature to the next level by bringing back archways.

‘Archways can help soften living spaces and help ease the transition from room to room in a way that feels organic. They’re also fabulous for creating the illusion of taller ceilings by drawing attention to the height of walls,’ Anne says.

‘If you’re not prepared to swap out your existing doorways, painted arches can create the same effect without the commitment or expense. Make a statement with a pop of color, or opt for more muted tones to achieve subtle elegance.’

Jane, we always knew you were ahead of the trends…
