In the era of influence, it’s hard to scroll through social media without being swept into a wave of ideas, opinions, musically enhanced slideshows, before-and-after compilations, and story times telling you what to do—or not to do—with your life. In fact, this is exactly how, while getting ready to move from one New York City apartment to another for the eighth time in 12 years, I fell into a home decor doomscroll on TikTok that resulted in a packed online shopping cart and a DIY renovation project.

I spent a lot of time talking to my mom about my decorating ideas in the days leading up to my move, and proving that my phone really does listen to me, my TikTok feed soon became a cascading inspiration board filled with current wall-paint trends, must-buy tech and kitchen items, and space-saving storage hacks. (NYC living, am I right?) Each of these items came with millions of views and testimonials that persuaded me to try them myself.

My favorites ranged from Samsung’s Frame TV (to add to my art wall) to earthy linen sheets from Bed Threads, to statement touches like moody wallpaper, chandeliers, and rustic dinnerware. If I ever stop scrolling, you’ll see the results of my renovation on TikTok one day. In the meantime, shop the 17 best viral TikTok home decor items that graced my feed—because hot girls don’t gatekeep.

RH (formerly Restoration Hardware) launched its cushy, customizable cloud couch in 2015. In the years since, style icons like Kendall Jenner, Kerry Washington, Naomi Watts, and Nina Dobrev have purchased it in different versions and made it a must-have for the living room. Videos featuring the couch have been viewed over 881 million times on TikTok.

samsung frame tv

This smart TV doubles as art: When you’re not watching your favorite shows, you can display a painting, photograph, or other image on its sleek screen.

“Samsung created an entirely new category of TVs when it introduced the Frame, inspired by people’s increased desire for customized products that fit their unique lifestyles and evolving style preferences,” Samsung senior vice president of home entertainment James Fishler tells Bazaar. “[It’s] designed to marry both form and function: a TV when it’s on, art when it’s off.” The device’s five-million-plus viewers on TikTok agree it’s the best of both worlds.

anthropologie primrose mirror

This vintage-inspired mirror with elegant adornments and a distressed gold-colored frame has enjoyed the social media spotlight for months now. The perfect way to add an elevated accent to any room, it comes in a wide range of sizes, shapes, and finishes to fit every space. More than 20 million views on TikTok prove it reflects the best.

bed threads

Bed Threads

Quiet-luxury girls, coastal grandmothers, and vintage fanatics unite, because Bed Threads has linens for everyone. The label’s earth-tone sheets, pillow covers, and home decor accessories have gone viral due to their dreamy hues and sustainable materials. (Some of us who already loved them wish they were still a secret—colors can sell out fast, after more than 163 million views on TikTok.)

“The oatmeal colorway is our bestseller in bedding at the moment, which we think is due to the beige aesthetic and ‘that girl’ trends on TikTok,” a brand rep tells Bazaar. “We’re seeing a lot of content around slow-living routines and soothing spaces, as well as Japandi-inspired [a mixture of Scandinavian design and Japanese design] interiors. Our scalloped napkins and place mats are also really popular in the U.S. at the moment, which is unsurprising with the trends for summer dinner party and long lunch hosting content on TikTok and Instagram.”

5. Stacks of floral coffee-table books

Florals for spring and summer feel exciting again in the form of an artistic coffee-table book. Some of my favorites (garnering more than 3.9 million views on TikTok) include:

Obviously, an inanimate object doesn’t have a sexual orientation, but this couch became the star of a positive, funny TikTok trend in which women—including celebrities like Emily Ratajkowski and Shay Mitchell—came out as bisexual by revealing their green velvet couches.

The couch’s 27.5 million views on TikTok have had an impact at Article, according to product designer Paula Cossarini. “Over the past 12 months we’ve sold thousands of Sven Grass Green Sofa and sectionals in green velvet, which may be partially influenced by the virality of home decor trends like the green velvet sofa trend on TikTok,” she says. Cossarini adds that the soft feel of the material combined with the richness and depth of the color make it an ideal piece to create visual interest in any space.

gurin rainfall shower head

An affordable yet luxurious showerhead’s popularity is not all that surprising amid the rising interest in cost-effective yet elevated living. This easy addition to a self-care ritual has earned itself 11.8 million views on TikTok.

From patterned living-room rugs to textured kitchen runners, Ruggable’s designs have surpassed 152.8 million views on TikTok for the same reason as the showerhead above: They look expensive, but aren’t. They’re also low-maintenance, easy to clean, and come in every size, color, and print.

9. Statement chandeliers

A statement chandelier—whether glamorous and ornamental, minimalist and industrial, or cozy and charming—can help bring focus to a space and tie a room together. This year, modern, no-fuss chandeliers are taking over the landscape, with 5.9 million views on TikTok.

“A room is instantly cozier with the glow of a lamp. I gravitate toward hand-thrown ceramic lamps by local artisans, or cool, unique, vintage finds—one-of-a-kind and handmade goods will always exude warmth, soul, and narrative,” interior designer Peter Dunham tells Bazaar.

article boucle chair

A couple of years ago, Gwyneth Paltrow influenced us all to covet her CB2 ivory bouclé swivel chair. I will admit I bought Paltrow’s chair at that very moment. Cut to the present: TikTok has now found a very similar and more affordable version, at Article. The trend has earned over 107 million views on TikTok.

“The popularity of bouclé furniture has remained a strong trend over the past few years, and since we introduced our first bouclé chair—the Gabriola Ivory bouclé chair—we’ve expanded the use of the cloudlike upholstery to sofas, ottomans, beds and more,” Article product designer Cossarini says. “An accent chair is an easy way for people to incorporate this trend to their space, and as a result our Gabriola chair is one of our top-selling products.”

crate and barrel shallow bowls

Simple as it may seem, the shallow bowl trend is the biggest of the bunch. They’re simple, they’re sculptural, and they’re oh so useful. Naturally, these ceramics have generated more than one billion views on TikTok—and convinced thousands of shoppers to bring them home.

    smeg citrus juicer

    Mauro

Smeg’s retro designs are often trending, and it doesn’t hurt that their colorways and minimalist designs pair with today’s “clean girl” aesthetic. The Italian appliance maker’s citrus juicer alone has racked up 22 million views on TikTok.

    society6 wallpaper

An accent wall can entirely change the vibe of your apartment, as 94.3 million views of Society6’s peel-and-stick wallpapers can attest to. The brand offers hundreds of peel-and-stick designs created by independent artists, and they’re all 10 percent off until the end of July.

“With over 300 million views on videos posted using the #peelandstick tag on TikTok, it has certainly become a home improvement trend on the platform within the past few months,” a rep for the brand tells Bazaar.
