Chelsea and Cole DeBoer have found success as influencers since their time on Teen Mom 2, but fans of the franchise aren’t into their online personas.
Chelsea DeBoer and her husband Cole have continued to make a name for themselves since they quit Teen Mom 2, but Teen Mom fans, who follow the pair online, think that their social media activities aren’t as genuine as they appear. Chelsea was first introduced to MTV viewers when she gave birth to her and Adam Lind’s daughter, Aubree, on 16 And Pregnant. Chelsea and Adam’s on-and-off relationship eventually ended for good in 2014, and Chelsea began to date Cole soon after. Almost ten years later, Chelsea and Cole are married and, in addition to Aubree, share three children: Watson, Layne, and Ettie.
Although Chelsea was a favorite among viewers, she refused to film Teen Mom 2 as time went on and eventually left the series in 2020. Chelsea’s chronic anxiety and need for privacy were cited as the DeBoers’ main reasons for quitting, but unlike some Teen Mom stars who have faded into obscurity, Chelsea and Cole’s social media accounts have continued to grow. When the pair aren’t sharing family photos and their home decor skills on Instagram, Chelsea and Cole can be found participating in the latest TikTok trends. While the DeBoers’ share millions of followers between them, however, some Teen Mom fans don’t buy that they accurately represent themselves online.
Teen Mom Fans Think Chelsea & Cole Try Too Hard
While Chelsea and Cole aren’t fans of confrontations and have avoided some of the biggest feuds throughout Teen Mom, they like to share information and gossip just like any other couple. The pair frequently join online trends and upload lighthearted TikToks, but in a recent Reddit discussion started by nahmatey, several Teen Mom fans believe Chelsea and Cole’s attempts to be relatable fall flat because they’re forced. Besides dozens of users who pointed out that the couple were clearly not at Chili’s, many viewers called the particular video “cringey,” and wondered what they’re like in real-life. Redditor Independent_Ad_3850 wrote, “I always feel like they’re desperately trying to convince everybody that they’re super happy.” Another Redditor thugspecialolympian sarcastically commented, “This is the kind of content that social media has been missing.”
Teen Mom Fans Don’t Like Chelsea’s Hand Tattoos
Many former Teen Mom stars like Kailyn Lowry are known for their ink, so when Reddit user rumbumbum2 reposted an image of Chelsea’s new hand tattoos, fans had a lot to say. While some Teen Mom viewers complimented Chelsea’s small designs, which include a heart, rose, and the word “gratitude,” the majority of commentators agreed that Chelsea’s tattoos are not only conventional, but won’t retain their look over time. Several Teen Mom fans also pointed out that celebrities like Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato share similar designs and believe that the trend is overdone and lacks originality.
Despite criticisms against them online, Chelsea and Cole are doing better than ever since they left Teen Mom 2. Chelsea and Cole will join HGTV in 2023 as the hosts of a new show, Farmhouse Fabulous, and the duo is also partnered with Furniture Mart and have their own line of products, Down Home DeBoers. While several Teen Mom stars have ended their relationships over the past few years, like Leah Messer and Jaylan Mobley, Chelsea and Cole are still going strong regardless of what they share online.
